Wattle Grove Public School has achieved its outstanding reputation for excellence by offering exceptional opportunities in a large range of programs.
Academically, Wattle Grove PS continually achieves above state average in Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN results. From as early as Kindergarten, children are achieving enormous success in reading, writing and spelling with the ‘Jolly Phonics' Literacy Program. The strength of our teaching programs is further reinforced by our success at Regional and State level in externally run competitions such as the Premier's spelling Bee and the 'Tournament of the Minds' as well as the University testing programs.
Kindergarten children are also tested prior to starting school so that their individual needs are catered for and reported against.
In sport, Wattle Grove PS offers a skill based program, as well, children can compete against other schools in a large range of PSSA sports in both winter and summer. Our success in swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals has seen us named the ‘Overall Champion School' for 3 of the past 4 years.
Our exceptional dance programs have enable students from Wattle Grove PS to perform at the prestigious Regional Sydney Dance Festival, State Dance and the School Spectacular.
We also have an enviable reputation in the region with our impressive public speaking program where all children from Kindergarten to Year 6 develop strong communication skills that equip them well for High School. Wattle Grove PS consistently places at District and Region competitions and has won the State Multicultural Public Speaking Competition.
