The Wattle Grove Public School difference

Starting strong

In the early years of schooling, we lay the foundation for lifelong learning. With smaller class sizes and targeted support, our students receive the individual attention they need to thrive. We focus on developing the whole child, building strong literacy and numeracy skills while also nurturing confidence, curiosity, and wellbeing.

Every child shines

We are committed to the pursuit of excellence and the provision of high-quality educational opportunities for each and every child.

Our students know they are well supported, encouraged to grow as confident, creative individuals who are motivated to learn and ready to take on challenges. We foster strong academic skills, as well as social and emotional qualities and strengthen resilience to lay the foundation for lifelong success and wellbeing.

A living classroom like no other

Our school is proud to host a rare Castlereagh Ironbark Forest on its grounds. In 2023-2024, students, guided by experts, created a protected habitat for the endangered Cumberland Plain Land Snail. This thriving outdoor learning space is now home to tawny frog-mouth owls, sugar gliders, possums, birds, and even visiting koalas. With nesting boxes, bee hotels, wildlife cameras, and water troughs, students enjoy real-life connections to nature and meaningful hands-on learning.

Student voice matters

At our school, we believe that every student’s voice matters. Our passionate Student Representative Council (SRC) works tirelessly to ensure that the views and ideas of our student body are heard and valued. By fostering open communication and active participation, we empower students to action change and contribute to a positive and inclusive school community.

Our SRC team raising funds for the RSPCA by holding an animal print mufti day.
SRC initiative - Crazy Hair Day, which raised awareness for Kids Helpline and how it can support mental health.
Our SRC held a cozy Pyjama Day to raise awareness and support for Asthma Australia.

What our students say

'Our teachers show they care. My teacher believes I can do the hard work. Teachers also say hello and ask me how I am' - Jay, School Vice Captain.

What our parents say

'Wattle Grove Public School is a wonderful school in all aspects of what the school stands for and offers. My children that attend here are happy, safe and are provided with every opportunity to enrich their learning and growth in all areas of school life. Wattle Grove Public School is highly recommended!' - parent of Wattle Grove Public School.

'We had every intention in enrolling our daughter in the catholic system. As our daughter has special needs. The journey was not easy, and they made us not feel welcome or that they could cater for our daughter's needs. We went to Wattle Grove Public School. From our first interaction we felt comfortable and confident that this was the right school for our daughter!  From ensuring she had support in the classroom and beyond, to the physical changes to the classrooms and playground. We have 5 children and proudly have every intention of sending all of them to Wattle Grove Public School!' - parent of Wattle Grove Public School.
