The Wattle Grove Public School difference
Starting strong
In the early years of schooling, we lay the foundation for lifelong learning. With smaller class sizes and targeted support, our students receive the individual attention they need to thrive. We focus on developing the whole child, building strong literacy and numeracy skills while also nurturing confidence, curiosity, and wellbeing.
Every child shines
We are committed to the pursuit of excellence and the provision of high-quality educational opportunities for each and every child.
Our students know they are well supported, encouraged to grow as confident, creative individuals who are motivated to learn and ready to take on challenges. We foster strong academic skills, as well as social and emotional qualities and strengthen resilience to lay the foundation for lifelong success and wellbeing.
A living classroom like no other
Our school is proud to host a rare Castlereagh Ironbark Forest on its grounds. In 2023-2024, students, guided by experts, created a protected habitat for the endangered Cumberland Plain Land Snail. This thriving outdoor learning space is now home to tawny frog-mouth owls, sugar gliders, possums, birds, and even visiting koalas. With nesting boxes, bee hotels, wildlife cameras, and water troughs, students enjoy real-life connections to nature and meaningful hands-on learning.
2026 School Captain - Zara
My name is Zara Dunkerley and I’m one of your school captains for 2026. I am a proud leader who is inclusive and demonstrates kindness. When I take on something, I give it my 110%! Whether it’s my schoolwork, sport or supporting others, I always put in my best effort.
I have proudly been a student at Wattle Grove Public School since Kindy 2020. My awesome teacher, Miss Clarke, guided me very well through my first year of primary. Her dedication and compassion inspired me to be the best that I can be as a student. All teachers and staff members help students gain confidence by being welcoming and reassure us that Wattle Grove Public School is a safe environment to be in.
Wattle Grove Public School is diverse and everyone belongs. Our respectful students are certainly kind and inclusive of others who may be feeling lonely, or need some friends to play with. We have teachers who provide the best support and encouragement if you need any help. If a student ever feels like they need a helping hand, I am more than happy to assist.
Wattee’s Wonders is a wonderful program held each term where all students from K-6 form mixed groups and learn about each other, include one another and build positive relationships. I have made a lot of new friends from this great initiative, and it has made a positive impact on many others.
Our students represent our school with pride, perseverance and determination in various creative arts and sporting opportunities. Throughout the year, we have many celebrations such as Education Week, Grandparents Day, Book Week, Harmony Day, where we embrace diversity and share our cultures, P&C Discos, Colour Runs and much more! Our very own backyard is the regenerated Castlereagh Ironbark Forest which allows us students to connect with nature through the exploration of nesting boxes, bee hotels, and tree troughs and cameras. Without a doubt, our school is HIGHLY recommended!

Hi, my name is Huxley Ryan and I am proud to be Wattle Grove Public School’s 2026 School Captain. Wattle Grove Public School is such a great school! It is welcoming, supportive and encourages every student to do their best.
This is my seventh year at this wonderful school and during that time I have seen the many amazing opportunities offered in academics, sports, leadership, creative arts and other school based projects like our forest regeneration. Our school takes part in Liverpool Zone PSSA Gala Days, representative sporting teams, public speaking, debating and Schools Spectacular, just to name a few.
Our school has dedicated teachers and a strong sense of community. It provides every student with the chance to learn, grow and achieve their goals, giving us the best foundation so that we can become confident, capable, responsible and respectful individuals.
It is an honour to be part of the Wattle Grove Public School leadership team.

What our students say
'Our teachers show they care. My teacher believes I can do the hard work. Teachers also say hello and ask me how I am' - Jay, School Vice Captain.
What our parents say
'Wattle Grove Public School is a wonderful school in all aspects of what the school stands for and offers. My children that attend here are happy, safe and are provided with every opportunity to enrich their learning and growth in all areas of school life. Wattle Grove Public School is highly recommended!' - parent of Wattle Grove Public School.
'We had every intention in enrolling our daughter in the catholic system. As our daughter has special needs. The journey was not easy, and they made us not feel welcome or that they could cater for our daughter's needs. We went to Wattle Grove Public School. From our first interaction we felt comfortable and confident that this was the right school for our daughter! From ensuring she had support in the classroom and beyond, to the physical changes to the classrooms and playground. We have 5 children and proudly have every intention of sending all of them to Wattle Grove Public School!' - parent of Wattle Grove Public School.
